For a fifth time, Japan's Tokyo Tower was illuminated in red to celebrate Chinese New Year on Jan 21, complete with a ceremony that included 2023 colorful balloons flying into the sky.

Siqingerile, a female singer from the Mongolian ethnic group, performed the song Hello at the ceremony with 200 Japanese and Chinese children as well as two doll figures, the panda Xiangxiang and the rabbit Tiantian.

The song, which includes the word "Hello" in 52 languages, was also composed by Siqingerile. "'Hello' is an insignificant yet most effective key to unlock the closed mind of mankind," she said, adding she hoped by bringing together greetings from different languages the world could hear an eternal melody of peace and beauty.

The music video of the song was also unveiled at the ceremony, featuring Siqingerile, Xiangxiang and Tiantian taking part in the hustle and bustle on the streets of Tokyo.

Nagoya and Osaka also took part in the ceremony.
