Scholar: China strengthening economic ties with Global South

China's exports to the United States in 2025 have dipped, while sales to ASEAN, the European Union, Latin America, and Africa are climbing sharply, with exports to Africa surging by an impressive 26 percent.

These numbers signal a clear shift: China's economic ties with the Global South are growing stronger and deeper. Liu Hongwu, dean of the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University, talk about what those numbers mean with China Daily reporter Zhao Manfeng.
