Artisans from across Hebei gather for woodblock contest

The offline selection round of the Hebei provincial intangible cultural heritage innovation competition for woodblock painting opened on Friday at Hengshui's Lake Marathon Square.

Under the theme "Auspicious Blessings for Year-round Well-being", the event brought together master artisans from across the northern Chinese province to demonstrate their skills in plate carving and rubbing.

The broader competition features nine major categories of intangible cultural heritage, including paper-cutting, stone carving, clay sculpture, ceramics, embroidery and metal forging.
