CAS Space, a leading commercial rocket maker in China, launched the 13th rocket in its Kinetica 1 series on Friday afternoon.
The rocket, which lifted off at 12:33 pm from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China's Gobi Desert, placed five satellites into their preset orbital positions. The mission was China's 32nd space launch this year.
One of the satellites, named Youxi, is equipped with two high-definition display screens and five multi-angle selfie cameras. Over the next five years, it will continuously broadcast user-generated videos by internet users from across the globe into space.
Meanwhile, it will send back footage of its on-screen broadcasts and images of the Earth's curved horizon, according to CAS Space.
