A welding task that once required four experienced workers and two days can now be completed by a single operator in just one day.
At a smart manufacturing base in China's northern port city of Tianjin, a Chinese-developed robotic welding system is being used for the intelligent welding of deepwater offshore equipment. Among China's first group of flexible robotic welding production line launched on June 14, the system helps improve efficiency, enhance welding consistency and reduce workers' exposure to harsh working conditions.
As intelligent manufacturing advances, smart equipment is helping make China's offshore energy industry safer, smarter and more efficient.
