Cyprus ambassador: Why the future of Cyprus-China ties is bright

Koula Sophianou, ambassador of Cyprus to China, stated in an interview with China Daily that bilateral trade volume between China and Cyprus has maintained a rising momentum over the past few years. She pointed out that Cypriot wine and dairy specialities have gained access to the Chinese market.

"There's much more that we can do to enhance our trade and our trading services as well," she added.

Sophianou also said that both China and Cyprus are maritime nations, boasting broad prospects for cooperation in shipping decarbonization, green shipping, maritime supporting services, and digital development.
