President Xi Jinping expressed on Monday China's readiness to work with Uzbekistan to consolidate strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and usher in a new "golden decade" for bilateral relations.

Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Uzbekistan comprehensive strategic partnership. Xi emphasized the improvement and upgrading of bilateral ties, the fruitful outcomes of bilateral cooperation in various areas, and the achievements in the building of the China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.

He called on the two countries to advance the high-quality construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, expand cooperation in artificial intelligence and desertification control, and pursue win-win outcomes. As founding members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, China and Uzbekistan should work together to implement the outcomes of last year's Tianjin summit and promote regional development and prosperity, he added.

Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan is firmly committed to developing relations with China and stands ready to work with China to deepen political mutual trust, expand trade and investment, and promote people-to-people exchanges.
