Pop Land City Carnival Tour arrives in Shanghai
The Pop Land City Carnival Tour, Pop Mart's touring IP entertainment experience, is in Shanghai until Nov 1.
Focusing on the adventure narrative of the brand's popular IP, Labubu, the tour is set at two iconic city landmarks: the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, featuring interactive attractions, themed dessert shops, and limited-edition merchandise pop-ups, and Shanghai No 1 Department Store, integrating play spots and visual installations with the streetscape to cater to daily urban leisure needs. While recreating the signature scene of Pop Mart's Pop Land theme park, the two sites bring immersive trendy toy IP experiences from the theme park to Shanghai's central commercial districts.
Pop Land, China's first immersive trendy toy IP theme park located in Beijing, combines amusement, performing arts, dining, and retail. In April, the park's Labubu forest zone reopened after renovations, resulting in a foot traffic increase of over 100 percent month-on-month. This carnival tour marks the park's inaugural expansion beyond its fixed premises. Utilizing a multi-venue, lightweight touring model, it will expand to more cities across China.
In recent years, Pop Mart has strengthened its IP presence and commercial footprint in Shanghai through several events.
A Pop Mart representative highlighted that Shanghai, with its rich cultural heritage and vibrant trendy consumption, serves as a core hub for integrating trendy toy IPs with urban scenarios. The brand plans to continue exploring diverse expressions of IP value and deepen the integration of trendy culture with urban life.
