The inaugural Embodied Intelligence Robot Games kicked off in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Friday, drawing over 100 research teams, enterprises, and universities. More than 150 robots took part in the event, showcasing cutting-edge advancements in robotics technology.
The games officially began when the athlete representative – a humanoid robot named "Qinglong" – delivered an oath. The event features 10 major categories across both competitive and application-based tracks, including sprinting, cross-country running, soccer, basketball, dancing, combat, cargo handling, intelligent grasping, indoor rescue, and innovative challenges.
According to organizers, Wuxi was chosen as the host city due to its rapid emergence in several frontier industries such as artificial intelligence, third-generation semiconductors, low-altitude economy, commercial aerospace, and humanoid robotics. The city has developed a solid industrial base in robotics and smart manufacturing, providing fertile ground for innovation and large-scale events such as this.
