MEP Ondrej Dostal: Europe needs to understand China as it actually is

Ondrej Dostal, a Czech member of the European Parliament, has visited China several times. Speaking at a Vision China event hosted by China Daily in London on Thursday, Dostal pointed out that vast efforts are being undertaken to prevent the public from developing an accurate picture of China and said: "We need to understand China as it actually is."

Only then, he said, could Europe formulate a China policy based on reality rather than projection.
