Jay Chou's music video offers stunning audiovisual experience

Pop star Jay Chou will release his 16th studio album, Children of the Sun, on Wednesday across digital platforms worldwide.

Even before the debut of its first single, the project has already ignited intense excitement among fans, fueled by a series of visually striking teaser clips.

With fans eagerly decoding references embedded in the title song's music video, the teasers have been revealed to pay homage to iconic artworks, including Gustav Klimt's The Kiss (1908), Edward Hopper's Nighthawks (1942), Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear (1889) by Vincent van Gogh, and The Death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David (1793). Through advanced visual effects, these masterpieces are reimagined with cinematic vitality, blending classical art with contemporary storytelling.

With a reported budget exceeding 20 million yuan ($2.89 million), the music video sets a new benchmark for Mandarin-language productions. Filmed across Paris and Taipei over more than two years, the project combines elaborate set designs, animation and postproduction to create a cinema-like visual experience.

The music video's global premiere, alongside an album news conference, is scheduled for Tuesday in Taipei, where Chou will be in attendance. Simultaneous premiere events will also take place in cinemas in Beijing and Shanghai, inviting media and fans to experience the release as a large-scale audiovisual event.
