Vice-foreign minister visits US, meets senior officials

Vice-Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu visited the United States from Wednesday to Thursday at the invitation of the US side and met with a number of senior US officials.
During the visit, Ma and the US side "held in-depth exchanges of views on implementing the important consensus reached by the heads of state of China and the US and advancing the building of a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability," the Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Friday.
In the US, Ma held consultations with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, according to the ministry.
He met with Ivan Kanapathy, senior director for Asia at the White House's National Security Council, and Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby.
Ma also exchanged views with members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
