90th anniversary exhibition honors Long March

An exhibition marking the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's Long March opened at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution in Beijing on Tuesday.

At the opening ceremony on Tuesday morning, Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that 90 years ago, the CPC led the Red Army through countless hardships and dangers, making enormous sacrifices to complete the world-shaking Long March, which has since been enshrined in history.

Forged with the lives and blood of communists and Red Army soldiers, the great spirit of the Long March has become a powerful spiritual force inspiring the Chinese people to overcome difficulties and advance from victory to victory, Cai said.

He said the exhibition provides a panoramic view of the glorious course of the Party leading the Red Army on the Long March, and serves as an important platform for education in ideals, convictions, patriotism and revolutionary traditions.

Cai urged the Chinese people to rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, fully implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, vigorously carry forward the great spirit of the Long March, forge ahead on the new Long March, and work tirelessly to advance the great cause of building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.

The exhibition is organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and other relevant authorities.

Covering approximately 3,300 square meters, the exhibition consists of seven themed sections. It features significantly more cultural relics than exhibitions held to mark the 70th and 80th anniversaries of the Long March's victory. More than 300 cultural relics and archival materials are being displayed for the first time, accounting for 28 percent of the total.
