Laojun Mountain, the highest peak of the Funiu Mountain Range in Central China, has been shaped by millions of years of geological evolution, giving rise to dramatic terrain of rugged peaks and cliffs. Its name is associated with Laozi (Lao Tzu), the ancient Chinese philosopher and founder of Taoism who is said to have lived here in seclusion. Traditional Taoist temples stand among the summit peaks, often shrouded in clouds. From the mountaintop, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the majestic mountains stretching across the vast Central Plains.
